The Marshall Tucker Band was formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1971. The group forged a unique style combining rock, country and jazz, and featured extended instrumental passages.

In 1973, the band released their self-titled debut album and began touring with The Allman Brothers Band. Their popularity grew with the platinum selling album, Carolina Dreams, and its top 15 single “Heard It in a Love Song,” in 1977.

The group also released two greatest hits albums, the Special Edition Collector’s Tin (2008) and the digital release of 12 Great Songs (2008). The group’s most recent release is Love Songs (2009).

The Marshall Tucker Band’s current roster includes original member Doug Gray (lead vocals), along with Rick Willis (guitar), Pat Elwood (bass), Stuart Swanlund (guitar and pedal steel guitar), Marcus James Henderson (flute and keyboard) and B.B. Borden (drums).

The Atlanta Rhythm Section is often described as a more radio-friendly version of Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Allman Brothers. Hailing from the small town of Doraville, Georgia, the Atlanta Rhythm Section began when a local recording studio was opened, Studio One, and the remnants of two groups (the Candymen and the Classics Four), became the studio’s house band. Since then, the band has released 15 albums with their latest studio album titled Eufaula (1999). Hit singles include “So Into You,” “Imaginary Lover,” “I’m Not Gonna Let it Bother Me Tonight” and “Spooky.”

The Atlanta Rhythm Section includes Rodney Justo (vocals), Barry Bailey (guitarist), Paul Goddard (bassist), Dean Daughtry (keyboardist), and Robert Nix (drummer).

The Georgia Satellites came crashing onto the charts with the hit single, “Keep Your Hands to Yourself.” A southern-rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, The Satellites were signed to Elektra Records in 1986 and recorded their most successful album, Cheshire, featuring the track “Keep Your Hands to Yourself.” The song peaked at number two on the Billboard chart and it also went into extremely heavy MTV rotation. Other notable singles included “Battleship Chains” and “Can't Stand The Pain.”

The Georgia Satellites are led by original band members Rick Richards (lead guitar and vocals) and Rick Price (bass and vocals), along with Kenney Head (keyboards) and Todd Johnston (drums).

The Marshall Tucker Band with special guests The Atlanta Rhythm Section and The Georgia Satellites are part of the Belle Tire Concert Series.
