After kick-starting the summer concert series with his traditional early-season performance, classic rocker Eddie Money is back by popular demand and will perform a second show at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Saturday, August 29 at 7:30 p.m. with special guest Pat Travers.

Eddie Money sang in San Francisco area clubs for several years before meeting legendary impresario Bill Graham in the 1970s. Graham agreed to manage his career and the two teamed up on Money’s first four albums, including his three million-selling 1977 self-titled debut, which featured the hits “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets To Paradise.”

He continued to produce hit songs throughout the next 14 years including “Shakin’,” “Think I’m In Love,” “No Control,” “Gimmie Some Water,” “Maybe I’m A Fool,” “I Wanna Go Back,” “Walk on Water” and his duet with Ronnie Spector, “Take Me Home Tonight.”

His 1991 release, Right Here, featured the Top 10 hit, “I’ll Get By,” a dedication to Graham, who passed away the same year. Money released Love & Money in 1995, including singles “Run Your Heart Away,” “She’s Like A Movie” and “Running Out Of Reasons.” Shakin’ With the Money Man (1997) celebrated his 20 years as a recording artist and featured live versions of original hits as well as four new studio tracks.

Other albums include Ready Eddie (1999), The Complete Eddie Money Live (2000) and The Best of Eddie Money (2001).

In 2003, Money released a trio of albums, The Essential Eddie Money, a best-of collection, Then and Now, a mix of old favorites performed live and new studio recordings, and Let’s Rock and Roll the Place, a live album capturing some of Eddie’s best performances of his biggest hit songs.

Money’s latest release was Wanna Go Back (2007), his first studio effort since 1999, and it featured 12 cover tracks, including Ray Charles’ “You Don’t Know Me,” and also included songs he performed when he was 15 years old with his original band, The Grapes of Wrath.

Eddie Money with special guest Pat Travers is part of the Belle Tire Concert Series.
