RANDOM NUMBER TICKET ON-SALE POLICY
The random
number ticket on-sale policy is designed to give every fan an equal chance
at purchasing the best tickets to an event. This method is preferred by most
bands and promoters since it gives the fans an equal chance to purchase tickets
and discourages scalpers from buying up the best seats and also discourages
fans from having to "camp out" overnight for tickets.
The random number policy works the following way:
1. All fans who arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the on-sale time will
receive a number. All fans arriving after that time will be placed at the
back of the line.
2. At 30 minutes (9:30 am for a 10:00 am on sale) prior to the on-sale time,
numbers will be drawn randomly to determine the fans' place in line.
3. Once the on-sale time arrives, the fans will then be allowed to go up
to the ticket window to purchase their tickets based on their place in line.
